Glasses

We recently got glasses for Sophie, but not this kind...

...this kind

Everybody has asked me how I knew Sophie needed glasses. Around the age of 11 months, I noticed her right eye was starting to cross, so I took her to the Opthamologist, The doctor said she is cross-eyed as well as farsighted. (I STILL don't understand how they can tell a baby is farsighted. completely amazing to me!) When the doctor told me she would have to wear glasses, I totally felt like crying (silly, I know) For one, I was worried about how I was expected to keep glasses on a one-year-old. And two, I know it sounds shallow, but I was worried about her looking like a nerd. It has all worked out much better than I expected. She not only tolerates the glasses, but loves them. Who knew. And I still think she is as adorable as ever!

They are so cute though Lisa! Laura Thompson's little girl has glasses and they are adorable. They have such stylish kinds for kids now. I am so sorry you felt like crying! But seriously, she looks so cute!

I would have cried too (when they told me)... but seriously she is darling with them on! So dang cute. She has such beautiful eyes, and think of what she can see now. Could you imagine?! I would have loved to have heard her thought as she put on those glasses for the first time.

You are not shallow, you are concerned and there is a big difference! But kids are not as mean these days about glasses because they've come a long way in making them fashionable. My niece loves hers. I think she looks SOOOOO cute! I love 'em! Just be prepared to buy more cause I'm sure she will break them like any toddler would do. :)

Hey guys, how are you! We were just looking to find jen and tom and came across you again. Sophie is adorable. Our little Alex got glasses when he was 2 and it broke my heart to think anything was even wrong with him. He had surgery to tighten up his muscles from crossing. And we have averaged at least a new pair of glasses a year. Little kids aren't the best in taking care of them. Call us if you have questions. We are getting to be pro's at this after having surgery, going to a specialist and lots and lots of Dr. appts. Maybe we will catch you this Christmas.
